Welcome back to another edition of the v2 Wrestling podcast and welcome to all of our listeners on TNAsylum.com and 606v2.com

This week the team is made up of your host Adam, along with regulars Gavin, Chris and Rich who proceed to talk about the goings on in both TNA and WWE.

In a change from the usual proceedings, we kick off by looking over WWE and the build towards this weeks Survivor Series PPV. The team discuss the booking leading up to the match and its apparent random booking. One of the team defends the booking against the odds and for a change its not Adam trying to turn back the tide. As well as the booking, the ending of the match is predicted and the impact of it being “free” has on the oucome. Which leads on to the WWE question of the week – how do you think the PPV will end? We round off WWE by talking about disabled animals.

We then move on to TNA via Lucha Underground. During the TNA section, we discuss the current likely destination for Impact and which of its stars we would keep whose contract is expiring (ie Angle, Bully, Joe, Aries, Tenay, Wolves and Kim).
Which leads us on to the big TNA question of the week – following the January reboot, which two people would you like to see in the commentators booth? Borasch? Tenay? Taz? Matthews? Spud? Don West?
The discussion finishes with a look back at this weeks Bootcamp and who we think will win.

If you want to answer our question of the week, please email us at wrestling@v2journal.com or contact us through twitter or facebook and please make sure to submit any questions you would like us to discuss!

Welcome back to another edition of the v2 Wrestling podcast and welcome to all of our listeners on TNAsylum.com and 606v2.com

This week the team is made up of your host Adam, along with regulars Paul, Chris and Rich who proceed to talk about the goings on in both TNA and WWE.

We kick off by looking back at the semi finals of TNA British Boot Camp 2 and which wrestlers made it through and whether the judges were right.

Which leads us on to the big TNA question of the week – Who do you think will win bootcamp and will they amount to anything on the main show. Paul, Chris and Rich all go for Grado whilst yours truly is going for Kay Lee Ray to win the whole thing.
The discussion then moves on to Lashleys reign and whether we think that Roode should have won the title when he did – should TNA have held off till the last show of the Spike run? And who do you think will be the next challenger to the belt in 2015?

We then move on to WWE a quick recap of RAW and what the UK fans thought of the show. We discuss the use of Ryback and are generally positive about WWE for the first time in quite some time. After the obligatory Adam Rose discussion we move on to a quick look back at some of the past winners of the PWI awards from years past.

The v2 Wrestling Podcast - Interview with Lucha Underground and former TNA star Hernandez
November 06, 2014 03:25 PM PST

Welcome to a very special edition of the V2 Wrestling Podcast where Gavin and Chris get the wonderful opportunity to interview current Lucha Underground and former TNA star Shawn "Hernandez".

Hernandez has had vast experience in wrestling and, as regular listeners will know, may very well be Gavin's favourite performer to grace a TNA ring. From his LAX days through to a tag team that never took a name with Chavo Guerrero, we talk about the pitfalls and the highlights of working in TNA.

This includes his views on the booking, the "politicking", the inherent racism he faced, the use of him and his peers, as well as his experience of the glass ceiling that TNA never seemed willing to let him smash through.

We also get the chance to talk about new promotion Lucha Underground which takes wrestling and adds a modern spin, shining a light on the reality TV aspects of wrestling and how the show within a show will work.

Shawn also speaks about the portrayal of Mexican wrestling in the American mainstream, with Lucha Underground looking like being the fresh promotion that can tap the market both TNA and WWE have been desperate to hit for years. With the men at the helm who understand the latino audience and a company that will truly highlight luchadores; this new promotion has high hopes, which Hernandez echoes.

We would like to thank Shawn for a wonderful and inciteful interview. Follow the man himself on twitter: @SuperMexCTM and keep an eye out for Lucha Underground, a product that already has the thumbs up from our very own Mr Cynical Gavin Duenas!

Welcome back to another edition of the v2 Wrestling podcast and welcome to all of our listeners on TNAsylum.com and 606v2.com

This week the team is made up of your host Adam, along with regulars Gavin, Chris and R2D2 who proceed to talk about the goings on in both TNA and WWE.

We kick off by looking back at TNA British Boot Camp 2 and whats been happening so far. A quick run down of the London auditions along with our thoughts on which entrants remind Rich of a young Buff Bagwell! But that’s not why you are tuning in – we move on to the proper TNA section very quickly!

We follow on with the big TNA question of the week – what has been the biggest missed opportunity by TNA over the last 10 years? The team offer up some suggestions which will surprise some and make others question our sanity! Do you agree with Gav, Adam, R2D2 or Chris over their selections of the use of LAX, Aces and 8s, Magnus or the missing out on Indie stars over ex WWE/ECW talent respectively?
Also, let us know what other ones you think we missed.

We then move on to WWE a quick recap of RAW, the WWE Network debacle in the UK, a look at Damian Sandow and who is going to make up the numbers in the Survivors Series teams. And who do you think will turn heel on the face team?

Unfortunately due to other commitments, Hernandez had to postpone the planned interview but we are planning on having him on next weeks show, so if you have any questions for him, please let us know!

The v2 Wrestling Podcast 29th October - Gimmicks, Grado and Good Finishes

Welcome back to another edition of the v2 Wrestling podcast and welcome to all of our listeners on TNAsylum.com and 606v2.com

This week the team is made up of your host Adam, along with regulars Gavin, Chris and 100% not Rich who proceed to talk about the goings on in both TNA and WWE.

We kick off by looking back at TNA British Boot Camp 2 and whats been happening so far. A quick run down of the people who have entered is discussed along with our thoughts on who the winner might be. The Grado/ Snow storyline is also briefly discussed.

We follow on with the TNA question of the week – TNA has recently been using a lot of ECW talent and trying to recreate that aura and feel. But is it the right era to target? We look at an alternative era to consider modelling themselves on – the WWF Golden Age where gimmicks were larger than life. Could TNA pull it off? Do you think it’s a good idea? Which stars would you repackage with a new gimmick and which would you leave alone? Can you beat Chris’ idea for Magnus?

We then move on to WWE a quick recap of the recent PPV, talk about RAW and a look at how badly WWE has managed to make the top belt look. It leads us on to our WWE question of the week – where would you like to see Brock Lesnar cut a promo?

Next week the show will have Hernandez on, so if you have any questions for him, please let us know!

v2 Wrestling Exclusive Interview with Chris Masters
October 22, 2014 11:09 AM PDT

Welcome to Part 2 of this week's v2 Wrestling Podcast, as Adam and Gavin interview former WWE star Chris Masters ahead of his tour of the UK, where he will be appearing on several shows.

During the interview, Chris discussed the current state of the UK scene
and talked about the merits of some of the UK's top stars such as Dave
Mastiff. He covers the upcoming benefit show for Kris Travis who was
recently diagnosed with cancer.

After we finished talking about the British scene, we looked back at
Chris’ career with particular focus on his initial run in WWE and the introduction of the “Masterlock Challenge”. Chris talks at length
about his reservations with the angle but how the old school mentality of the gimmick was proved to be a great success in the long run.

Chris talks about working with his idol, Shawn Michaels, and other legends such as Ric Flair and Kurt Angle. The final stages of the interview surround his first return and second departure from the company but more specifically how it all went down! Who made the phone call? Why was he released? The only way to find out is to listen to the show!

A huge thank you to Chris for taking the time to talk to us and we wish
him a great trip to the UK. Make sure to try and catch him in a town near you over the coming weeks.

Welcome to this week's v2 Wrestling Podcast. In a break from our normal routine, this week's show features a wrestling quiz.

The v2 crew all got together at the weekend, except for Chris who is too young and cool to attend such gatherings, and recorded this episode in the plush surroundings of Worcester Travelodge.

So get your pen and paper out, and see if you can do better than Adam, Gavin and Paul managed in Hero's Wrestling Names Quiz.

The V2 Wrestling Podcast - Full Metal Mayhem, Gail Kim, Nostalgia and How Promos Are Better than Ring work

Welcome back to another edition of the v2 Wrestling podcast and welcome to
all of our listeners on TNAsylum.com and TWFnews.com

This week the team is made up of your host Adam, along with regulars
Gavin, Chris and Rich who proceed to talk about the goings on in both TNA
and WWE.

We kick off by looking back at last weeks Full Metal Mayhem match between
the Wolves, Hardys and Dudleys. The conversation centres around whether
this type of match is what wrestling should be about in 2014 or whether
it’s a relic of the past.

The TNA section then moves on to highlights of the recent Gail Kim
interview (click here to listen -
http://v2wrestling.com/5/post/2014/10/v2-wrestling-exclusive-gail-kim-interview.html)
and looking at the actions of Bully Ray and his BFG Bullet Club actions –
was this disrespectful to TNA and Wrestle 1? Did they know about it? Did
they approve it?
We follow on with the question of the week – who should be main eventing?
The best wrestlers or the best talkers? We look at examples of both and
quickly come to the conclusion that there are very few who are great at
both. Who do you think are the best talkers and what do you think is the
most important aspect for a wrestler to have. Can stars be made who are
poor promoers?

We then move on to WWE a quick recap of the main events on RAW, as we
analyse the change of PPV main event and look at some of the other talking
points. Is Dean Ambrose that good on the mic? Tune in to find out our
thoughts!
Next week the show will have Chris Masters on, so if you have any
questions for him, please let us know!

If you want to answer our question of the week, please email us at

Welcome to an exclusive interview with TNA star Gail Kim.

Many thanks to Gail for taking the time out of her day to speak with us!

Welcome back to another edition of the v2 Wrestling podcast and welcome to all of our listeners on TNAsylum.com and TWFnews.com!

This week the team is made up of your host Adam, along with regulars Gavin, Chris and Rich who proceed to talk about the goings on in both TNA and WWE.

We kick off by looking back at last weeks TNA questions of whether TNA should consider resetting all of the current feuds going on in favour of new ones for their new network.

Most people were in agreement that the only feud worth continuing was the James Storm one.

The TNA section then moves on to a discussion around wrestlers legacies and specifically if any TNA wrestlers could be considered “legends” if they haven’t wrestled in WWE. The conversation brings up the usual suspects of Styles, Joe and even the Wolves.

And this is our question of the week:

Do you think that any current or past TNA wrestlers will be considered legends of the industry, if they don’t have a major run in WWE?

We finish off with a discussion around last weeks main event of Kim vs Havok – should women be main eventing?

We then move on to WWE and the events of RAW.

We start off by answering the second question of last week - "How would you repackage Sheamus to make him even remotely interesting?".

Unfortunately, no one came up with any good ideas bar a vampire or victorian ghost.

The main discussion points revolve around the Rocks return and the unbelievability of Dean Ambroses current gimmick.

And this leads on to our WWE question of the week – As Ambrose went stereorypical with a local gimmick (the Coney Island hot dog stand), we ask which city and local gimmick would you like to see Ambrose turn up with next week?

We finish off by having a discussion about whether feuds need a title to be main event.

If you want to answer any of these question , please email us at the address below of contact us through twitter or facebook.

See you next week!
